Our staff getting involved

Why get involved in research?

  • Research develops new skills, encourages critical thinking and builds the evidence for tomorrow’s treatment.
  • The NIHR Clinical Research Networks support the Trust's involvement in research by providing infrastructure including training, research ethics and governance advice, study set-up assistance and administrative support.

  • Our Trust has an organisational culture where asking questions is encouraged.

“Our Board recognises the critical importance of research in supporting best care for patients, and also in ensuring the care we deliver is both efficient and effective. We have therefore actively supported engagement in research as a way on improving patient experience and outcomes. We also recognise the benefit of research to support innovation and updating the evidence needed to support best practice.” David Vickers, Medical Director
