Patient experience and participation

Patient advice and liaison service (PALS)

PALS supports patients, their families, carers and our staff. Find out more on our dedicated PALS webpage.

Co-production is where services work together with the people who use the services. This might be to design and deliver new services, or work on projects to make changes and improvements.

Co-production helps to ensure that the people with lived experience are included in decision making, to ensure services work well and are fit for purpose.

How to get involved

We're always looking for members of our community, including parents/carers and young people, to join in with us on exciting projects and co-production initiatives.

Some of the things you may be interested in getting involved with are:

  • Attending and participating in a meeting to share your ideas for service improvements
  • Being part of a project group to design new service developments
  • Co-designing and co-delivering training for our team members
  • Joining an interview panel to interview our new recruits
  • Sharing your service user story for our colleagues to learn from
  • Attending a focus group
  • Completing surveys
  • Providing feedback on new initiatives or written materials
  • Speaking at a conference or event
  • Being an involvement and patient safety partner

You don't need to have any prior knowledge or specialist expertise/experience and will be offered payment for your time in line with our rewards and recognition policy.

Patient Experience
The staff are wonderful; the receptionists were polite and efficient, the nurses I have seen, were incredible.
