The Community Nurse led anticoagulant clinic is an easily accessible service for the monitoring and dosing of patients taking oral anticoagulant medication
Who can use the service:
Anyone registered with a GP in the Luton area able to attend the clinic

Two anticoagulants clinics per week are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8.30am – 10.00am

Service provided include:
The Community Specialist Nurse Anticoagulant service currently delivers care to all patients under the care of a Luton GP. Patients attend for a blood test to monitor their International Normalised Ratio (INR) result using a near patient testing device. Patients attend on a regular basis dependent on their previous INR results. At the clinic their dose of oral anticoagulant medication will be titrated if required to maximise its efficacy thereby reducing complications of bleeding or thrombo-embolic events.
