Luton Community Blood Services - Phlebotomy, DVT & Anticoagulation Services are based at the Luton Treatment Centre
Please note that anyone attending the Luton Treatment must now wear a face covering.
The Luton Community Phlebotomy Team attend clinics and patients’ homes to take blood tests daily from 8am-4pm.
We take referrals from any health care professionals. The phlebotomists and LTC HCA's also facilitate all the venepuncture practical training for CCS Luton staff and sign them as competent once they have achieved all the set goals.
Service provided:
A high quality standard of phlebotomy provided to the adult population of Luton residents registered with a Luton GP.
The service accepts referrals from health care professionals including:
- Patients
- GPs
- Intermediate Care Services
- Rapid Response Team
- Macmillan Team
- Community Matron Service
- Community Nursing Service
- Luton & Dunstable Hospital
The Luton Community Phlebotomy Service has 2 elements:
1. A clinic based phlebotomy service for patients registered with Luton GPs
2. A domiciliary phlebotomy service for patients registered with Luton GPs.

Residents aged 18 and over registered with GPs in the Luton area.

2. Luton GP Domiciliary Service
The phlebotomists will visit patients in their own homes, including residential homes.
Who can use the service?
Residents aged 18 and over registered with GPs in the Luton area and are housebound. This may be due to a physical or medical condition and can be long term or could be during an episode of short-term illness.

How to book an appointment for a domiciliary blood test appointment?
First appointments only for this service need to be booked by the health care professional but then the patient can then book all subsequent appointments.
