by Rachel Everett | Aug 29, 2023
This award is an opportunity for patients, families, visitors, and Trust colleagues to say ‘thank you – you made a difference’ to a member of staff or a team for anything (however small!) that helped make their experience of our services better.

We're delighted to announce that our joint July ‘Shine a Light’ winners are:

Charlotte Wiggins was nominated by a foster parent for the relentless work she had done to ensure that a child under her care received continuing care from her local authority. The nominator said, "Charlotte has worked above and beyond and we are eternally grateful for all her hard work".

Jan Wilkins supports families who have children with complex palliative care needs, or who have experienced often very complex or traumatic bereavements. Susan Sadek nominated Jan for the way she supports with compassion and humanity. One of the families commented "The pain and sadness at times has been overwhelming, scary and debilitating. I wouldn’t have even known how to begin to deal with these feelings or navigated through them without this support".

Other nominations this month:

Koseen Fiaz, Diabetes Specialist Nurse.
Juliet Davies nominated Koseen, stating "Koseen goes above and beyond to support her patients and members of the Diabetes service. She is very hardworking and diligent in all she does".

Rowan Melvin, Administrator 0-19 HCP, Oak Tree Centre
Nicole Marsh nominated Rowan stating "she is always willing even when trying to manage the pressures of her own workload. I feel that she should be noticed for the hard work and  dedication she gives to the team".

The clinical systems team were nominated by Jo Smith on behalf of the North locality HCP leadership team. Jo stated  "They consistently respond to any System one queries in a quick and efficient manner, and always go above an beyond to ensure queries are responded to, often going the extra mile to find out exactly what the query may be and finding the best way to solve it".

Julia Franklin nominated Lesley Allan, Clinical Nurse Specialist and Kevin O'Regan, Practice Teacher. Julia wanted to recognise the support that Lesley and Kevin had given her "thank you so much to Lesley and Kevin for their expertise, support and patience with helping me to complete this challenging course, what you do really is appreciated".

Kerry Biggadike was nominated by a service user. Kerry was recognised for her kind, calm and compassionate manner whilst she carried out a one year check on the services users daughter. The nominator said "when the health service is under such pressure, these individuals really do stand out".
