November Shine A Light Winner - Zoe Nutt

by Sarah Turner | Dec 01, 2022

This award is an opportunity for patients, families, visitors, and Trust colleagues to say ‘thank you – you made a difference’ to a member of staff or a team for anything (however small!) that helped make their experience of our services better.

We're delighted to announce that our November ‘Shine a Light’ winner is:

Zoe Nutt, Health visitor, Luton

Zoe was nominated by a service user called Sophie for all the support she has provided following her daughter’s development review. Sophie said: “The support from Zoe has been incomparable, I've cried with her and laughed with her and she always has time to listen about our struggles and I really feel heard. I can't put into words how thankful I am for Zoe, her support for me and Neve has been so heartfelt and committed, I really feel she cares genuinely for those she works with and that she really has personal interest in our journey.

Other nominations this month:

Rapid Response Team – The Poynt, Luton
The Rapid Response Team was nominated by Debbie Banks who said: “I was coordinating the DN visits, Rapid Response and OOH's helped me out today taking all unplanned visits for the DN's service without any hesitation.”

Donna Dugga-Hill, Lianne Lancaster and Amelia Smart, CCN Team Administrators, Bedford
Donna, Lianne and Amelia were nominated by Allison Wardley for going above and beyond to support the renovation and relocation of Union Street Clinic. She said: “They always work with a smile and can-do attitude and I’m extremely grateful for their high standards, attention to detail and kindness shown to clinicians, workmen and most of all patients to ensure the impact is minimised on their care.”

Jade Woods, Senior Administrator, Dynamic Health, Wisbech
Jade was nominated by Geraldine Stephenson, Sarah Saul and Michelle Young for her dedication to the comms annex waiting list. Michelle said: “We had a demonstration of how the comms annexe worked which Jade delivered with confidence and a good understanding and knowledge. She is passionate and empathetic towards helping patients and dedicated to improving the patient's pathway and is a credit to the service.”

Kamila Brandon and Donna Foster, Teenage Parent Practitioners, 0-19 HCP West Norfolk
Kamila and Donna were nominated by Susan Dulgarn for working tirelessly to support first time teenage parents. Susan said: “They listen, give advice and signpost young people to services which will enable them to fulfil their potential. They support parental mental health and wellbeing, foster self-esteem and self-confidence all of which result in great outcomes for our young parents and their babies/children. They develop trusting and supportive relationships with young people and make a huge difference in their lives.”

Just One Number SPOC Administrators, JON Cringleford
The team was nominated by Sarah for carrying out an ‘amazing’ service Monday to Saturday, which involves taking the initial calls from parents, carers and professionals, and dealing with them in a timely, compassionate and professional way. She said: “They are always very polite and accommodating when dealing with a service user/professional and to their team in general and are a pleasure to work with and make a massive difference to the families of Norfolk and Waveney.”

Hollie Coe, Stevie Parker and Amanda Maylor, Advanced Specialist CYP Physiotherapist and Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapy Assistant, Cambs CYP Physiotherapy, Huntingdon
Hollie, Stevie and Amanda were nominated by Jacqui Taylor for keeping CYP/families’ needs at the centre of everything they do and in recognition of some lovely feedback from the parent of a child with Cerebral Palsy. Jacqui said: “The Cambs CYP Physiotherapy team is relatively small and is currently struggling with significant staff vacancies and maternity leave meaning staff have been working under immense pressure for a significant period of time. I am immensely proud of the entire CYP Physiotherapy team (in both the North and South) and what they are managing to achieve under extremely challenging circumstances and so think they all deserve reward and recognition.”

Eloise Crosland, EMHP, Wisbech Mental Health Support Team
Eloise was nominated by Emma Sillet for being an adaptable and supportive member of the team. Emma said: “Eloise is one of those members of staff who just shines regularly but recently she’s been incredibly adaptable and supported the team with last minute changes without question. She’s always keen to put herself forward for opportunities to run groups/workshops/showcasing events or even just making some incredibly formatted posters for our office - she is a superstar!”

Ashley Charman, Children in Care Administrator, Children in Care Services
Ashley was nominated by Nicola Bescoby for the positive impact she’s made on our children in care service and for demonstrating our trust values. Nicola said: “Her compassion and initiative is always focused on the experience and outcomes for our service users. One example of this is following a recent appointment for an initial health assessment of a young child coming into care. The long travel distance into one of our clinics followed by a long, distressing wait and confusion with access into the clinic meant the appointment didn’t take place, causing further upset to the child. Ashley took care and consideration in arranging with his carer a closer clinic to minimise the travel as well as arranging his appointment with a paediatrician who has a special interest in autism. Additionally, Ashley arranged for sensory toys to be available in reception for his wait and ensured that the sensory room was cleaned and ready for use.”

Hayley Bradshaw, Community Respiratory Nurse Specialist, Luton
Hayley was nominated by Leila Daniel for helping a clinically vulnerable patient who declined access to his home to ensure he was provided with appropriate respiratory nursing care. She said: “This meant providing assessment on the patient’s doorstep for several months however Hayley’s perseverance paid off as she was eventually allowed access to the patient’s home and was able to continue to support him not only with his respiratory nursing needs, but also with his self-neglect and hoarding.” Hayley also continued to advocate for the patient after his death with the safeguarding process, which will further improve outcomes for other patients and provide resolution to the patient’s family.
