From the smallest gesture that made your day to something that you’ll remember for a lifetime ... let us know!
 
Whether it is someone involved in your care, someone that made a difference when you visited us, or perhaps you want to recognise a fellow colleague within the Trust, just fill in the nomination form and we’ll do the rest. 
 
Every month, our panel will choose one member of staff or a team as the ‘shine a light’ award winner.  

Teams will be presented with a voucher for £50 and individual winner's will receive £25.  We will also promote their story through our website and newsletters, along with a summary of everyone that was nominated.

January 2024 Shine A Light Award Winner - Kate Brown

This award is an opportunity for patients, families, visitors, and Trust colleagues to say ‘thank you – you made a difference’ to a member of staff or a team for anything (however small!) that helped make their experience of our services better.

We're delighted to announce that our January ‘Shine a Light’ winner is: 

Kate Brown, Tissue Viability Nurse, Luton

Kate, tissue viability nurse in Luton, was nominated by Vicki Brookes for her fantastic work raising awareness of leg ulceration intervention, antimicrobial stewardship and wound care among GPs and primary care nurses.

What a lovely nomination, well done Kate!

Mandy Cuckow – Estates Area Manager, Fenland, West Norfolk and Peterborough
Mandy was nominated by Chris Leonard for her diligence and constant high standards whilst managing a number of extensive refurbishments taking place at the sites she manages. Chris said, "Mandy always acts in a professional and timely manner on every occasion to support and manage the situations and challenges that continue to crop up."

Josh Benge, Finance Assistant, The Meadows
Jo Oakey nominated Josh for the support he provided to resolve an issue which could have had a much wider impact if left unresolved. Jo also noted the work he had undertaken to educate members of her team, she said "He is approachable, likeable, enthusiastic, patient, supportive...the list can go on. I am so grateful that he has expanded my knowledge, reassured me that there is always help out there. Thank you."

Louise Brooks, Dental Nurse, Suffolk
Fiona Welsh nominated Louise for her involvement in the unit achieving their bronze standard award for green impact. Fiona said "Louise's passion for everything "green" rubs off on us all. "What would Lou do" is becoming our motto for recycling and protecting the environment."

District Nurses, The Poynt, Luton
Debbie Banks nominated the team of district nurses at The Poynt saying, "North team constantly supports the district nurses services daily through the ongoing challenges of the service."
