This award is an opportunity for patients, families, visitors and Trust colleagues to say ‘thank you – you made a difference’ to a member of staff or a team for anything (however small!) that helped make their experience of our services better.
Our May 2020 winner is:
Lauren Cox, Children's Occupational Therapist, Ely, Cambridgeshire
Lauren was nominated by Nicola Foreman for being instrumental in the development of their new website. Nicola said: “Lauren has applied a 'can do' approach, linking with our brilliant Communications team, listening to colleagues, taking on board parent feedback and linking with our co-production lead - all of which have been invaluable to making the website as accessible to as many people as possible.
“Lauren has also needed to be very creative to enable further development during Covid 19. She was keen to develop the website further so that more information was readily accessible to our children and families. She did this by linking with colleagues and our co-production lead and by asking the right questions, has enabled us to continue with the development. Lauren does all of this alongside her clinical role of supporting our children and families.
“The success of the website content has been recognised by the Royal College of Occupational Therapy who have chosen our service as an example of 'what can be done to make a difference to others'. Responses to our website have included: 'Lots of information and strategies which I can use in class (as a class teacher) this will be useful for lots of the children', 'I think asking young people to be in the videos who had experienced support from the (OT) team is a good idea and feel as a result there will be a lot of "buy in" from young people who watch it'. Thank you Lauren!”
Fantastic work Lauren well done!
Also nominated this month was Danni Wilks, 0-19 School Nurse based in Cambridgeshire
Danni was nominated by Linda Flack for delivering an in-house ChatHealth (CH) training package during the Covid 19 restrictions which she completed and delivered over Microsoft teams within a two week deadline.
Linda said: “To be able to train nine new colleagues Danni has had to learn Microsoft teams and implement delivering training over an audio system. She accessed the super user training via webinar from CH Leicester to be able to gain the admin rights to allocate licences and accept colleagues to the CH platform.
“To enhance the training Danni has designed a quick guide and training package with screenshots and all relevant documents/policies needed for operating CH.
“I took part in the calls and can only say Danni's training was outstanding, Danni was able to answer all questions asked of her during the training sessions and she delivered an excellent training package with confidence. She worked on CH over the Bank Holiday weekend and had some tough conversations to deal with which she handled appropriately and kept a very vulnerable young person safe.
“Well Done Danni you are a fantastic SCPHN and we are lucky to have you in our team.”
Fantastic nominations again this month, well done!
