Gerry Matlock Shine a Light WinnerShine a Light Award Winner – September 2013

Gerry Matlock, School Nurse, Melbourn, Cambridge

Gerry was nominated by her team leader, Helen Morrison, after receiving recognition from Mr Peter Wilson, Head of Safeguarding and Standards Unit, for the work she carried out with a family where domestic violence was a problem.  Her involvement had contributed towards keeping the children safe from harm.  She showed tenacity, determination and a strong commitment towards inter-agency working.

Congratulations to Gerry!

Other nominations included:

Community Nursing Sister, Stephanie Harris, Luton

Stephanie was nominated by a colleague for the challenge of supporting and leading a residential home to improve their patient outcomes. This involved working cohesively with residential home managers and staff to implement good processes and practices to enhance patient care. And this was evidenced by working closely with the Trust and social care safeguarding teams.

Tracy McElroy, Team Administrator, Shared Care Drug Service, Luton

Tracey was recognised for being an amazing individual. She goes above and beyond the call of duty to help clients and she is always accommodating, flexible, and friendly in her dealings with clients and staff alike. She makes the clients feel welcome, allays their fears and anxieties as soon she answers the reception.  They in turn appreciate that they are being dealt with in a pleasant and professional manner and that their particular issue will be resolved. She has shown great flexibility and multi tasking skills in recent times taking care of not only her own job role but also of another member of staff that recently left. She does not have the word 'no' in her vocabulary and is truly an asset to the service

Well done to everyone who was nominated this month.
