BLMK logoA campaign to understand what is important to local communities about the future of health and care services across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes (BLMK) has started with local health and care organisation’s capturing the views of local people at events across the region.  

The campaign, which will run until mid-September, will provide residents and communities with an opportunity to share their views about existing services and what is important to them for the future.

Adults' Services

With growing and ageing population there is an increasing demand on community health and social care services, particularly as new treatments and technologies are developed. 

Much of the focus of older people’s services is to support people to remain as independent as possible, prevent unnecessary hospital stays and support people to return home as quickly as possible if they do need go to hospital.

We also provide urgent care for a wide range of minor illnesses and injuries and specialist diagnostic testing.

For professionals: please be advised that our single point of access telephone number is 0333 405 3000, which is now operational 24/7, connecting you to a variety of teams including diabetes, respiratory, TB, heart failure, tissue viability, district nursing, community matrons, rapid response, At Home First, Parkinson’s service, and cancer and palliative care (excludes GP Liaison team and Luton Treatment Centre).

Flying Start - July 2018

Our services care for and support children aged up to 19, and we work in partnership with Luton Council's Flying Start programme for children and their families from pregnancy to five years of age.

Luton Local Offer - Services for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or a Disability (SEND)

Whilst we do not provide mental health services, if you’re a child, young person or family member living in Luton you can access advice, help and support via the The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)

Talking Takes off - is a new initiative aimed at improving speech and communication in children from 0-5 years old in Luton. Talking Takes Off is offering practical support to parents, carers to spread the word about the importance of language development by offering a range of tools, resources and workshops.
