Majority of services on the Princess of Wales site have been suspended following interruption to water supply

by User Not Found | Nov 24, 2015

Due to a burst water main in the Ely area, the main water supply to the Princess of Wales Hospital and surrounding area has been interrupted.

The following services are therefore unable to treat patients until the water supply is restored.

  • Outpatient appointments
  • Musculo-skeletal services
  • X-ray services
  • Minor Injury Unit (MIU):  any patients presenting to the MIU will be redirected to 111 or 999, although clinical staff are available if there is a medical emergency.

Inpatient services on Welney inpatient ward continue to operate as normal.

We are in contact with Anglian Water to clarify timescales for the resolution of this situation.  We anticipate the situation will be resolved later today (24 November 2015).

Patients with planned outpatient and musculo-skeletal appointments will be contacted to make alternative arrangements in due course.

For further information contact:

Patient Experience
The staff are wonderful; the receptionists were polite and efficient, the nurses I have seen, were incredible.
