December Joint Shine A Light Winners - Jennie Coombe, Mike McMahon and Violet Kadango

by Rachel Everett | Jan 23, 2024
We're delighted to announce that our joint December ‘Shine a Light’ winners are: Jennie Coombe, Information Governance Officer and Mike McMahon, Quality Lead Luton Adults and Violet Kadango, Health Visitor Luton.

Jennie was nominated Monty Keuneman who said "Jennie has been in the team for a short period of time and in this short period of time she has made a real impact to the performance of the Freedom of Information (FOI) responses from the Trust. The Team IG approach has allowed Jennie to support services across the whole Trust to ensure 100% compliance for the last two moths which is massive turnaround of performance."

Mike and Violet were nominated by Kate Howard for the exceptional way they assisted the Police during a recent incident linked to human trafficking. Kate said: "Both Violet and Mike went above and beyond to provide this support for the community and have signposted and risk reviewed all those individuals that they assessed. This extra work was completed in addition to their daily activity, but also it is a highly sensitive and distressing environment to work within."

What lovely nominations, well done!

Other nominations this month were:

Kevin Boyle, Head of department
Kevin was nominated for this award by a patient/service user, David Ison. David said "Kevin's referred me to his brilliant team and with just one consultation and a course of exercises led to full shoulder recovery instead of a dreaded shoulder operation"

Sarah Ward, Senior Wellbeing Practitioner
Jo Dennison wanted to recognise Sarah's contribution over the past year. Jo said: "She has successfully supervised 4 trainee Educational Mental Health Practitioners through their training year, whilst undertaking her own supervisor course. On top of this Sarah has been instrumental in the very successful roll out of the new Broadland MHST service that started in January 2023."

Sarbjit Dhot, EHCP Co-ordinator Bedford
Danielle Smith nominated Sarbjit for the support she has given to her. Danielle said: "I have worked for the service for 13 years now and never had any plans to aim higher in terms of progressing in my job due to the limitations I believed my health condition had over me. I now have the tools, knowledge, confidence and support to join the step on up programme and I really feel she should be applauded for the amount of time and encouragement she has given me."

Kathy Rapsey and Katie Francis, School Public Health Nurses
Sarah Dixon nominated Kathy and Kate for going above and beyond to assist another team in the Trust who were struggling due to sickness levels, they liaised with practice lead and team managers to arrange support for the team at a time when they are busy themselves.
