Dreamdrops

Dreamdrops – Huntingdonshire Children’s Charity

Huntingdonshire Children’s Charity (charity number 1108920), is known locally as Dreamdrops, under the umbrella Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust’s charity.

Dreamdrops fundraises for children being nursed in the local community, children in the Hinchingbrooke Hospital, including the paediatric A&E department, Holly Ward, the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) and Children’s Outpatients, along with parents and front-line staff.

The money raised by the charity is used to provide those things that the NHS simply cannot afford but would love to have. It’s those items that can help make a child more comfortable, allow a young patient to go home to their family, get the latest equipment to improve a patient’s experience, and take a bit of the stress away.

From play equipment for hospitalised children and those awaiting their appointments to highly specialised, cutting-edge medical equipment that is not readily available on the NHS, Dreamdrops has raised the necessary money to buy items and invest in projects that make a difference.

The charity also runs the local Collins Club which provides days out for families with autistic children, with the assistance of members of the Dreamdrops Committee, as well as ongoing support for them.

During Covid Dreamdrops has provided support packages to NHS staff working in children’s services, based both in hospital and in the local community, in recognition of the wonderful work they have continued to do under very difficult circumstances.
