    The Peacock Centre

    351 Mill Road
    Cambridge
    CB1 3DF

    Telephone number: 01223 218066.

We also provide some clinic appointments in the Outpatient Department at The Princess of Wales Hospital in Ely.

If your child is aged under 8 months old and you have concerns, or if your child has a known permanent hearing loss they will need to be seen by the Paediatric Audiology Service at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. Please contact them on 01223 217797. If your child is already under a hospital based ENT service, please contact them about how to arrange a hearing test.

What will happen at the appointment?:

The appointment for  your child will start with a brief conversation between parents/carers and clinician about your concerns. This gives younger child a chance to settle into the test room and play with some toys/puzzles/books. We will then carry out some game based hearing tests to determine how well your child is hearing, followed by looking in their ears. We will explain and discuss the results with you when all testing is complete and make a plan with you about the next steps. This leaflet is aimed at children age 3-7  to help them understand what an appointment for a hearing test might be like. Feel free to read it to your child before the appointment.

Below are a list of advice leaflets we might provide at your appointment depending on the outcome of the assessment.
