This award is an opportunity for patients, families, visitors, and Trust colleagues to say ‘thank you – you made a difference’ to a member of staff or a team for anything (however small!) that helped make their experience of our services better.
We're delighted to announce that our February ‘Shine a Light’ winner is:
Helen Ruddy, Business Support Manager, Corporate
Ingrid Wilson, Health Visitor, Cambs CYP
Helen was nominated by members of the quality team for being a supportive line manager, even during Covid when face to face contact was limited. Helen was recognised as having amazing attention to detail and persistence to get a high quality job done. This is fantastic recognition for Helen who will be leaving the Trust shortly to begin her well earned retirement.
Ingrid was nominate by a patient/service for being kind, patient and reassuring when she felt very vulnerable and at her lowest, following the birth of her baby. She stated “I am so grateful for her encouragement and positivity”.

Karen was nominated by Angela White who wanted to recognise the support that Karen provides to staff and visitors alike. Angela stated "Karen has a very kind and caring nature and we are lucky to have her 'looking after us' at The Peacock Centre
Karen Powell, Melissa Casemore, Katy McWhan, Sarah Noyes & Nicky Blackwood - Oncology & Palliative Care Paediatric Nursing Team, Luton
Alexandra Stanton nominated Karen, Melissa, Katy, Sarah and Nicky. Alexandra wanted to thank them stating that they had been truly exemplary in their clinical work and emotional support to a Luton child and his parents, over the last year.
Hazel Byatt, Special Care Dentistry, Cambridgeshire
Tracey Bingham nominated Hazel stating "Hazel has been outstanding in supporting a family of a child with complex needs and who has many health appointments, to access the Special Care Dentist in Cambridgeshire. Hazel was compassionate and responsive to their needs".
Kate Green, Health Visitor, Mid Beds 0-19 Team
Joanna Flack nominated Kate, for the wonderful feedback she had received from a social worker, which thanked her for her amazingly positive contribution to a safeguarding family.
Sarah Mugford, Practice Lead, Mid Beds 0-19 TeamSarah was nominated by Joanna Flack. Joanna advised; "while out socially with her family a member of the public collapsed. Sarah gave the person CPR- and saved this person's life. As a team, we want to congratulate Sarah on this amazing achievement!!"
