Christmas Shine a Light winners - Sally Birch and Nicky Kimberley, School Nurses, 0-19 HCP and Mohammad Bari, Business Analyst, Bedfordshire

by Kirstie Flack | Dec 23, 2021

This award is an opportunity for patients, families, visitors and Trust colleagues to say ‘thank you – you made a difference’ to a member of staff or a team for anything (however small!) that helped make their experience of our services better.

We are delighted to announce that our joint Christmas ‘Shine a Light’ winners are:

Sally Birch and Nicky Kimberley, School Nurses, 0-19 HCP and Mohammad Bari, Business Analyst, Bedfordshire

Sally Birch and Nicky Kimberley, School Nurses, 0-19, Cambridgeshire

Sally and Nicky were nominated by Jo Smith for completing a fantastic piece of work whilst working on the ChatHealth platform in Cambridgeshire.

Jo said: “The compassion, support, kindness, and reassurance that was given to this young person, via text was incredible. They allowed this person to develop trust and rapport and they received a very quick response and specialist support.

“This is a great example of partnership working within the 0-19 service and demonstrates the need for the ChatHealth service to be available to those vulnerable young people out there who are happier to communicate to professionals via text than in person. This was a tricky case to support as the young person was anonymous for a time whilst the relationship was being established between the service and the young person.

“Sally and Nicky handled the case professionally and sensitively and gave the right support for this young person to be able to face the future. A great job very well-done Sally and Nicky.”

Fantastic work ladies, well done!

Mohammad Bari, Business Analyst, Bedfordshire

Mohammad was nominated by Hardeep Mehmi, ELFT MSK Podiatry Clinical Lead for Bedfordshire CHS, QI Project Lead and Carole Green, Participation Lead and QI Coach for ELFT (Beds Community Health Services).

Hardeep said: “Mo has been a pillar of support throughout the QI Project, no request has ever been an issue and his positive ‘can-do’ attitude is inspirational. He is a shining example of how working together can help achieve all we can for our service users. We would like Mo to be recognised for his sterling work and continued efforts in supporting the ELFT MSK Podiatry QI Project and convey a big thank you from the team.”

Carole continued: “Mo has been supporting his colleagues from ELFT with a QI project aimed to reduce the average wait time for those on the MSK Podiatry Pathway. We have had to ask him to supply us with a lot of data so that we can properly assess and better manage the wait list. No request has been too much trouble for him, and he is able to turnaround our requests with speed. We simply would not have been able to progress with our project if it had not been for his quick supply of data. We are incredibly grateful for his support. Our comms to each other is always friendly and he really is a sinew that strengthens the working relationship between ELFT and CCS.”

Well done Mohammad wonderful nomination!

Other nominations this month:

Congratulations also goes out to Kim Milligan, Operational Support Officer, Luton who was nominated by Zoe Brown, on behalf of Pete Reeve and the Senior Leadership team.

Kim is highly commended for the multiple nominations she received from her colleagues, who wanted to thank her and praise her for the hard work and support that she gives them each day. Zoe said: “Kim's dedication in helping to set up the e-rostering system has not gone unnoticed and for that we are especially thankful. Kim is an extremely valued member of the Adult Nursing team who always goes above and beyond with every task she undertakes. Kim is always on hand to support staff and ensure their working day runs smooth.

Brilliant work Kim, well done!

Amazing Christmas nominations! Congratulations to everyone who was nominated.
