by Kirstie Flack | Apr 29, 2021

This award is an opportunity for patients, families, visitors and Trust colleagues to say ‘thank you – you made a difference’ to a member of staff or a team for anything (however small!) that helped make their experience of our services better.

Our Winner for April 2021 is:

Molly Bishr - Recruitment Co-ordinator, CCS HQ, St Ives

Huge congratulations to Molly Bishr who received two nominations from Lisa Wright and Karen Fell.

Lisa said: “During this incredibly pressured time Molly has gone above and beyond to assist me in recruitment to our team. She is a shining example of our #bekind ethos. She has been responsive to all my questions and I have felt supported from the start of the process right the way to welcoming new members of staff on their first day. A huge thank you to Molly for finding the answers to my tricky questions. How lucky are we to have her in our CCS family?!”

Karen said: “Molly is a star! She was the recruitment co-ordinator dealing with my recruitment as Volunteer Lead for CCS. She was a pleasure to speak to, always incredibly helpful and prompt at answering my queries. Since I have started in post, she has been simply amazing! I have needed lots of guidance about recruitment guidelines, and Molly has been willing to share her knowledge with me and helped me to make sure that I am following the correct procedures. This has been a shining example of how we can all work together to achieve excellent outcomes. I am so appreciative of the time Molly has given to me - she is an absolute asset to the Recruitment team and to CCS!”

Two fantastic nominations, well done Molly!

Other nominations this month included:

Niamh Robinson - Mandatory Training & OLM Co-Ordinator, St Ives

Niamh was nominated by Debbie Frost, new registered nurse with the mass vaccination programme.  Debbie said: “Niamh has been the MOST helpful, kind and understanding person at the Trust to me regarding a protracted and difficult recruitment process for the mass vaccination programme. Whatever problem or issue I have encountered Niamh always dealt with it and sorted it out for me in a swift professional and courteous manner.

“Niamh is partly responsible for managing to retain me as a new trust employee as I have wanted to retract from the process twice. She is an exemplary employee and goes above and beyond to ensure that the correct information and processes are followed and maintains clear and effective communication at all times. She is an ambassador for the Trust and deserves recognition for demonstrating the trusts values in action. She genuinely is a credit to her team and I wish her all the very best in the future.

"Niamh thoroughly deserves this award, well done and thank you Niamh.”

Jenny King - Site Lead Connaught Hall, Covid-19 Mass Vaccination

Jenny was nominated by Anna Gill, Vice-Chair/Non-Executive Director, for being a wonderful team leader who embodies all that is great about our CCS culture. Anna said: “She welcomes, supports, supervises and includes all staff without hierarchy; with good humour and huge commitment. She has very quickly created a strong team identity and bond, especially helping those new to their role and is highly appreciated in so many comments. One team member said: “I hope your bosses value you Jenny” so I thought it was time she was nominated to recognise all that she does and brings to her role. A great ambassador for our Trust.”

Nicky Srahan, Mike Passfield and the Mass Vaccination Team

Julia Curtis, nominated Nicky and Mike for the exceptional clinical leadership that they have shown throughout the setting up, implementing and sustaining the Mass Vaccination programme through some challenging times. She said: “They have worked tirelessly alongside many others to ensure that the staff on the ground are well trained and feel confident to be part of the programme.

“I hear fabulous feedback from the public on every shift that I work in the centres and it’s down to the amazing team that has been put in place to make this a reality. Their calm and professional leadership gives clinicians great confidence in the whole programme and their visibility, knowledge, respect for others and can do attitude has shone through at grass roots level over the last few months. I would like to nominate them on behalf of the many clinical colleagues working in the hubs on a daily basis. Thank you.”

Shining examples of our wonderful staff going above and beyond - well done to everyone who was nominated this month!
