Katie Neate, Project Manager, Service Development Team, St Ives - March 2016

by Kirstie Flack | Mar 23, 2016

This award is an opportunity for patients, families, visitors and Trust colleagues to say ‘thank you – you made a difference’ to a member of staff or a team for anything (however small!) that helped make their experience of our services better.

The winner for March is:

Katie Neate Shine a Light WinnerKatie Neate, Project Manager, Service Development Team
Katie was nominated by Sarah Saul who said "as a project manager Katie is second to none. She is currently project managing in two relocation builds in the north and south of the Dynamic Health patch. She is the key project support in the units low back pain pilot which has had extreme challenges with the collaborative pathway. She led a massive project on demand and capacity within the service at the end of last year which was presented to the commissioners and led to them acknowledging our capacity challenges. She is also working on CQUIN and service proposals for the future.

"It’s not just MSK she works for and other unit managers and services find her skills and knowledge and support invaluable. She has tenacity, determination, seeks to understand fully, and is very organised and methodical. She also displays a calm, unflappable nature and reassures all she works with that all is "going to plan." She continues driving MSK projects forward with the teams across the unit with great success. The team wouldn't be as far forward as a unit if it wasn’t for Katie. She is such an asset to CCS and goes out of her way to help and support in whatever way she can."

Other nominations this month were:

Carole Westbury, Health Visitor Assistant, Children’s Services, Dereham
Carole was nominated by Hilary Sewell for helping out colleagues by working across two teams since CCS took over from NCHC. She has had to learn new skills and systems as well as continuing to doing her original job but on less hours. Although this has been stressful at times she has continued to offer an excellent standard of work and more importantly is the rock that holds the Dereham and Litcham health visiting team together with her knowledge, support, reassurance and cake!

Liz Mellor, Sister, Outpatient Department, Princess of Wales Hospital, Ely
Liz was nominated by Amanda Halls. Since her time as Sister of the Outpatient Department at Ely, Liz has led a team of nurses working to her high standards, in a welcoming and cheerful department.

Patient care has always been her first priority. She has set up nurse led services in Aural Care and Dermatology, facilitating these services with typical enthusiasm. Recently Liz has steered her team through some significant uncertainty with a positive attitude, never letting services slide.

Liz's positive, chirpy approach will be missed by many staff and patients as she retires at the end of March.

Well done to everyone who was nominated this month!
