Shine a Light Award Winner – December 2014Carline Calvert Shine a Light Winner

Caroline Calvert, Post Registration Education Administrator, Professional Education, The Meadows

Caroline has worked for the Trust for less than 1 year. During the last 4 months whilst her line manager has been on long term sick leave, Caroline has supported Charlotte Ella to ensure the team has continued to provide a high quality Clinical Professional Development (CPD) service for all staff. Caroline has taken a leading role regarding CPD spend, she has provided feedback at senior level meetings, during partner organisation meetings and has provided comprehensive and accurate information.

Caroline has never complained about her increased workload and is consistently cheerful and proactive. The CPD spend is on track and all staff who have applied for CPD have received a first class service. Despite working in her post for less than one year Caroline has made a huge positive impact on the professional education team and her support has been admirable. She is also a pleasure to work with.

Well done to Caroline

Other nominations for December include:

Mia Freeman, District Nurse, Princess of Wales Hospital (Sutton area)

Mia was nominated for being exceptional when visiting a patient at home to change her PICC line dressing and to take her chemotherapy pump off. She is an excellent nurse and so compassionate and caring. The patient is over the moon to be better, but will miss the support and kindness of Mia and her team. The standard of care provided has been amazing.

Sakina Chilwan, Speech and Language Therapy Admin Assistant, Children's Services (Brookfields/Chesterton)

Sakina was nominated for being so helpful to the speech and language therapists that she works with. She has taken on many new jobs and does so with a smile. She co-ordinates appointments, saving the team time and effort, makes up resources so they can have exciting games for the children they work with to play with and manages to fit our priority work into her busy schedule. She has been an absolute asset and we are so glad she works in their team. She takes on new tasks with System 1 with no complaints. She is a star!

Well done to everyone who was nominated this month.
