Emily is always supportive to the needs of the teams and passionate about delivering high quality patient care, making every contact count. She works to maximum capacity to assist every District Nursing team when the staffing levels are low.
Recently due to unforeseen sickness; Emily delegated her unplanned work to appropriate staff and assisted within Lesley’s team. Every patient she saw commented on how kind, caring, efficient and competent she is. Emily always has a smile on her face no matter how stressful the job can become, she is well respected by staff and patients.
Congratulations to Emily.
Other nominations this month included:
Elisabeth Sturgeon, House Keeper, Holly Ward, Hinchingbrooke
Liz was nominated by her colleague Christine Luckham, for supporting the matron, manager and staff in a year long preparation for the CQC inspection. She has gone the extra mile in supporting the team’s preparation, working extra hours as well as maintaining her role as house keeper for the ward.
Ensuring the audits are completed and the environment is maintained at an exceptional high level of cleanliness. She has also supported the productive ward initiative maintaining a standardised approach for each module.
Linda Locke, Admin Assistant Doddington, MSK Doddington
Linda was commended by Sarah Saul for supporting the team in the East Cambs and the Fens locality to move to electronic records and helping them to learn SystmOne tasks.
She is flexible, dedicated, wants change and pushes movement to systems to run smoothly and efficiently. She is also very adaptable having covered at other sites short of admin support for our specialists. She supports the rest of the admin team splitting her role between clinical specialist support and reception cover for the MSK entrance at Doddington.
Linda works with the outpatient admin team at the hospital effectively and efficiently and liaises regularly with GP's and surgeries regarding patient care in an exemplary manner.
Alison Crocker, Gail Joseph, Ann Price, Continence Physiotherapy Team
This trio of specialist physiotherapists were nominated by Sarah Saul for their collaborative work with Hinchingbrooke Hospital to help them achieve the highest accreditation for their Urogynaecology by the British Society of Urogynaecology. This accreditation was for its pioneering work in improving care for patients suffering from prolapse, incontinence and bladder problems.
Hinchingbrooke is the highest scoring unit in the entire country. Only eight other units in England have met the standards needed to receive accreditation, and Hinchingbrooke is the first in East Anglia to be recognised.
To receive the award, the urogynaecology team at Hinchingbrooke, supported by the above 3 physio colleagues together with continence nurses also from the Trust, had to send in over 400 pages of evidence and faced an assessment from a team of national experts. In addition, patient satisfaction is among the highest in the area, with 100% of patients being happy with the service and 98% saying that the hospital’s consultation and management plan had improved their understanding of their condition.
They continue to further their knowledge and experience by attending post graduate courses. They link in with the urogynae special GP leads to work together at improving the pathway. They share their knowledge and expertise around the patch and link in with the continence nurses which have now increased in capacity after a lengthy time with reduced staffing. They ensure they learn from each other too with regular liaison both with each other but also across to the continence nurses to improve pathway working and increase efficiency.
Well done to everyone!
