From the smallest gesture that made your day to something that you’ll remember for a lifetime ... let us know!
 
Whether it is someone involved in your care, someone that made a difference when you visited us, or perhaps you want to recognise a fellow colleague within the Trust, just fill in the nomination form and we’ll do the rest. 
 
Every month, our panel will choose one member of staff or a team as the ‘shine a light’ award winner.  

Teams will be presented with a voucher for £50 and individual winner's will receive £25.  We will also promote their story through our website and newsletters, along with a summary of everyone that was nominated.

This award is an opportunity for patients, families, visitors and Trust colleagues to say ‘thank you – you made a difference’ to a member of staff for anything (however small!) that helped make their experience of our services better.

Louise Thirkettle, Thomas Andrew and Helena Baxter - Young Persons Shared Care Drug Service, Luton

The team were nominated by a patient who had been using the service for 5 years.  They provided support with the issues the patient was experiencing and also provided food. The service has made a lot of difference to this person’s life.

The nomination read “Thank you to Helena for being my therapist, for helping me to eat and to smile.  To Thomas and Louise for reducing my Methadone and providing me with food.  I am now trying to eat, I can walk and smile!”

Jennie was nominated by Debbie Liverpool, Drugs and Alcohol Manager, to thank her for all the support that she gives to the Shared Care Drug Service Teams (SCDS). Staff have reported on numerous occasions that Jennie is extremely helpful and is passionate about safeguarding, exhibits genuine compassion, understanding and an impressive wealth of knowledge when faced with challenges with our sometimes difficult and chaotic service users.

She is always available and goes over and above her role to assist them. She has been of great support, assisted me in expanding my knowledge regarding issues around quality and clinical governance and demonstrates a genuine willingness to ensure our service users receive the best available care.

Rehan Tariq, Team Lead, Shared Care Drug Service, Clody House, Luton

Rehan was nominated by several members of his team for:

“Being the most understanding, dedicated team leader and staff member they know.  For being flexible and friendly in his approach, both personal and professional has always been of a high standard.  He listens to every request and service improvement offered and is always available to listen and offer advice. Always has their best interests at heart and extends this treatment to all staff and patients. Often the first in the office and last to leave and always leads by example.

Community Phlebotomy Team - Luton

The above team were nominated by Sarah Munroe and Rachel Kremer who recently took over managing the Luton Community Phlebotomy Service. Their nomination read: “We have both been very impressed with the competence, skills continual hard work and passion of the team. The recent PET survey with an overall score of 93% reflected this well. They have embraced change and welcomed us as part of their team.”  The team are Shirley Izzard, Janet Fulbrook, Diana Harrington, Diane Denison, Gillian Wardell, Caroline Birchall and Melanie Stafford.
