From the smallest gesture that made your day to something that you’ll remember for a lifetime ... let us know!
 
Whether it is someone involved in your care, someone that made a difference when you visited us, or perhaps you want to recognise a fellow colleague within the Trust, just fill in the nomination form and we’ll do the rest. 
 
Every month, our panel will choose one member of staff or a team as the ‘shine a light’ award winner.  

Teams will be presented with a voucher for £50 and individual winner's will receive £25.  We will also promote their story through our website and newsletters, along with a summary of everyone that was nominated.

This award is an opportunity for patients, families, visitors and Trust colleagues to say ‘thank you – you made a difference’ to a member of staff for anything (however small!) that helped make their experience of our services better.

Shine a Light Award Winner – April 2013 Sue Robinson Shine a Light Winner

Sue Robinson, HCA/Admin - Clinic B, Princess of Wales Hospital, Ely

Sue was nominated by one of her patients for being “a genuinely caring nurse.”

In the past she had found it very rare to encounter a medical professional who really stood out.  Her faith in the NHS was restored when she met Sue in Clinic B.  Sue was extremely patient, understanding and helpful.  She offers patients a truly personal service and took the time to make her feel completely at ease and unrushed, at no time did she feel like a mere number.  Sue really is a credit to the team!

Elissa Harwood, Research Support Officer, Audit team

Elissa was nominated by Sara Hill, Head of Podiatry for working alongside the podiatry diabetes team in PB and supporting them to take part in a national trial project involving wound care and infection. The project has proved to be very difficult to establish and she has faced numerous challenges, however she worked incredibly hard to ensure we are able to progress, she keeps the team well informed and has shown real dedication to the work to ensure we as a service are able to engage with trials potential impacting on our evidence based approach to care.

All the dental nurses and dentists, Access Dental Team, Hinchingbrooke

The team were commended by the mother of one of their patients for the support and care given to her and her daughter with special needs. Their care, attention and listening skills and level of understanding have made a difficult situation much better. 

Liz Stevens, Epilepsy Nurse, Leagrave Clinic, Luton

Liz was nominated by the mother of one of her patients for going above and beyond to help children and their families.  Liz’s can do and can help approach has been a lifeline for the family especially through the difficult times.
