Infection Prevention and Control is everyone's responsibility

We can all do our part in preventing infection. If you are a patient or carer attending a service within Cambridgeshire Community Services Trust, please help us to prevent the spread of infection. You can do this by following the simple measures put in place during the beginning of the Covid Pandemic which are;

  • Clean your hands when you enter the building – there are dispensers and bottles of alcohol hand gels and foams available for you to use.
  • Please cover your nose and mouth before coughing or sneezing and dispose of tissues in the waste bins.
  • Try and maintain a safe personal distance from others whilst in the building – around 1 metre is advised.

The IPaC team continue to monitor the number of people with respiratory illnesses both locally and nationally. If there is an increase in the number of chest infections caused by viruses, the use of face masks may be increased, and if the level of infections decreases, the use of masks will be reduced. Please look out for posters in the service which will inform you if masks need to be worn or if you need to take specific precautions to protect yourself against other infections.
