Healthcare staff showed that there is no ‘I in team’ at a new style NHS trust excellence awards at Lynford Hall near Thetford last week.

Twelve teams from Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust celebrated success, following nominations from their colleagues for their compassion, innovation or to simply say thank you.

Matthew Winn, Chief Executive at the Trust said: “These awards recognise our unsung heroes who make a real difference to people’s lives. I would like to thank all of the staff across the Trust for providing high quality care, close to home often on a daily basis.

“I am also incredibly proud that the Trust has been recognised as the best Community Trust in the country to work for.”

Short films showcased staff in the three team award categories that ‘were just doing their day job,’ yet had found simple ways to provide care to their patients, support colleagues and strengthen links with other organisations.

Three new awards were added this year – Kate Granger person centred care, rising star and supporting our services to excel, with a top two (team or individual) being named in each category. Selecting the annual shine a light winner from the 12 monthly winners completed the afternoon.

Nicola Scrivings, chair of the Trust’s Board said: “I would like to take this opportunity to personally acknowledge the difference our staff, volunteers and the charities and community groups that support us, make on a daily basis. The culture within our organisation, based on our values of honesty, empathy, ambition and respect, is envied by many and is entirely the result of our passionate and committed staff. 

“Over the last nine months since I became Chairman, I have visited many services and seen first hand how the care provided improves the quality of life of those we serve.”

We also celebrated and thanked 17 members of staff who have collectively achieved 380 years of committed service to the NHS.
