CCS NHST RESEARCH TEAM

Dr Paula Waddingham, PhD – Research Manager
I can offer a high level of expertise to staff to help them develop feasible clinical projects. It is preferable that staff consider a subject area which explores a clinical priority, or links into the departmental or Trust's objectives. Projects may be linked  to the dissertation part of degrees or clinical Fellowships. I am able to provide help for each of these levels; BSc, MSc, PhD and also post-doctoral. I am also able to offer supervision, mentoring and coaching during a programme of work and as part of the submission process for a Fellowship. I am on the Trust's approved list of recognised coaches. I am the contact person for queries with research or project costing.

Dr Rachel Martell, PhD – Portfolio Research Manager
Providing oversight and strategic direction for National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) portfolio studies, I am the CRN Lead liaison for the Trust, and manage CRN activity progress. I lead on portfolio grant development and management of income generated by portfolio funded studies, in addition to leading on relevant Trust research projects.

Sam Nunn, MRes – Research Facilitator
Funded by the Clinical Research Network (CRN) to lead services with the adoption National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) portfolio studies via study matching, study feasibility assessments and ensuring all research permissions are in place prior to commencement of a study. I am the lead for Research Champions projects including Building Research Capacity in the East of England SCPHN Workforce.

Jyothika Kumar, PhD – Clinical Research Facilitator (On Secondment)
My role is funded by the Clinical Research Network (CRN) and my main remit is to support National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) portfolio studies across all CCS sites. I am currently leading on the Equality, diversity and inclusion in research strategy in the Trust.
